A month has passed since the start of the season and the Fireweed Children’s chorus has already had 4 rehearsals. This season we have 22 singers, 14 of which sang with the chorus last year. Everyone is getting used to the new Covid routines – weekly health checks, hand sanitizing and the spacing requirements between singers that is so different from the way we have sung together in the past. Our approval from the Chief Public Health Officer to resume practices specifies that we are limited in the amount of time that we can actually sing, so our rehearsals involve more humming and body percussion. This gets everyone up and active.
